EASTER MESSAGE 2017
In recent days two Coptic Christian Churches have been bombed near Cairo. This terror attack killed dozens of people and injured nearly 60 others. It seems that this terror attack was initiated purely for motives of an anti-Christian nature. Pope Francis prayed, “May the Lord convert the hearts of the people who are sowing terror, violence and death, and also the hearts of those who make and traffic weapons.”
최근 (이집트) 카이로 근처에 있는 콥틱 교회 두곳이 폭격을 당했습니다. 이 테러 공격으로 수십 명이 사망하고 60명에 이르는 사람들이 부상을 당했습니다. 이 테러 공격은 온전히 반 그리스도교적인 성향의 동기로부터 시작되었다고 보여집니다. 프란치스코 교황님은 "테러와 폭력과 죽음의 (씨앗을) 뿌리는 사람들의 마음과 또한 끔찍한 무기를 만드는 이들의 마음을 주님께서 바꾸어 주시기를" 기도하셨습니다.
This happened at the start of Holy Week, the principal liturgical week for all Christians. It indicates that the suffering and death of Christians continues in imitation of Jesus two thousand years ago.
이(테러)는 모든 그리스도인들을 위한 전례 예식 주간인 성주간의 시작일에 일어났습니다. 이는 이천년 전 예수님을 따르는 그리스도인의 수난과 죽음이 (지금까지도)계속되고 있음을 보여줍니다.
Pope Francis’ prayer goes to the “heart” of the matter. It is only the change of attitudes that ultimately can effect the change of sinful structures in society.
Conversion of hearts from hatred to peace is the ultimate prayer of intercession of us all in these precious times. It is the beginning point of our shared hope that the future will bring forth the practical harvest of joy and mutual respect in society.
프란치스코 교황님의 기도(관심)는 “마음”에로 향합니다.
(테러와 폭력, 살인을 자행하는) 이들의 태도를 변화시키는 유일한 방법은 우리 사회에 내재된 죽음의 문화(sinful structure)를 궁극적으로 바꾸는 것입니다.
증오로부터 평화에 이르는 진심어린 회심은, 이 중요한 시간(성주간) 중재를 위한 (그리스도인의) 중요한 기도가 됩니다. 이것은 미래에 우리 사회에서 상호 존중과 실천적 기쁨의 열매를 가지고 앞으로 나아가야 할, 우리가 함께 공유하는 희망의 출발점입니다.
Christians believe that in Jesus Christ this journey to peace has already been won yet still not fully realised in our world. The Resurrection of Jesus from the brutality of his death on the Calvary Cross is THE sign of God’s ultimate victory over the terror of the night. It is the cause of our Easter shout of ALLELUIA – Praise the Lord!
그리스도인들은 예수 그리스도 안에서 평화를 향해 나아가는 여정이 우리 현실에서 완전히 실현되지 않았지만, 이미 승리했다고 믿습니다. 골고타 십자가 위 잔혹한 죽음으로부터의 예수님 부활은 테러의 어두움을 넘어서는 완전한 하느님 승리의 표지입니다. 이는 우리가 부활에 알렐루야를 외치는 이유이기도 합니다. - 주님을 찬미합시다!
We may be limited in our immediate practical response to the tragedy of this Egyptian terror attack. However, this Easter we can reach out to our families and those we know who are struggling and be people of hope and peace. Let us start by the conversion of our attitudes from selfishness to the planting of the seeds of a generous societal heart.
우리는 이 이집트 테러 공격으로 인한 비극에 즉각적이고도 실제적인 대응을 하는데 있어 제한을 받을 수 있습니다. 그러나 이번 부활은 우리가 희망과 평화의 사람들이 되기 위해 고통 받는 우리 가족들에게 손을 내밀 수 있습니다. (자기 자신만 생각하는) 이기심으로부터 관대한 사회를 위한 마음의 씨앗을 키울 수 있기까지, 우리의 태도를 바꾸는 일을 시작합시다.
